Bride

Isaiah and Catherine met at Isaiah's housewarming party on May 16, 2009 through a mutual friend Janelle Clark. Catherine was reluctant to attend the party with Janelle, but with a little persuasion she attended, and met the man she would later call her husband.  Here is what Catherine had to say about their first meeting:

There was just something about him that I was immediately drawn to. Isaiah had the "up north roughness persona", but intelligent and compassionate at the same time .You know that feeling you get when someone touches your soul without physically touching you? Well that's what I felt as hours passed and conversation grew deeper on the first night we met. He was such a gentleman, we stayed secluded for hours at the party talking about life, our experiences, traveling, goals we wanted to accomplish, and a host of other topics. I remember I couldn't wait to get  home and share the details of my new friend with Felicia and Tasha. We spent each day together after that, for a solid 2 years. Some would say we were joined at the hip.

Isaiah has been in my corner since day one, and I in his. We encourage each other to enjoy life and not worry about the short-comings or inequities of the world. Life is short, tomorrow is not promised, but I plan to spend the rest of my days as his wife, loving him unconditionally.

Groom

I ran into Janelle Clark, whom I had become friends with while attending YSU at her job. Knowing she kept great company, I asked her why she hadn't introduced me to any of her friends. After she went through the list of candidates, Catherine seemed like the person I would most like to meet. I invited both to my house warming. When I first met Catherine I was instantly drawn to her, she was beautiful and had an old soul (like me). We conversed for 3 hours straight, as I walked her outside to her car I wondered how I would ask her for her number, luckily she beat me to it, because I probably would have said something silly.

Catherine has been the cornerstone of my growth spiritually and professionally. No matter the circumstance, Catherine is constantly encouraging me to better myself and pushing me to remain steadfast as it relates to my personal goals, and the goals we set for our relationship. I could not have asked for a better woman to venture through life with.
