Larisa Barber was born in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan in 1987 where she grew up until she was 18 with Carl, Sandra, and older brother Chris. She then lived in Toronto, Nova Scotia, and Lake Louise before heading to University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon for Environmental Studies. She then settled in Saskatoon, getting a job as a geoscientist at O'Kane Consultants Inc, an engineering consulting firm.

Boyd Doucette was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and grew up in Clavet, Saskatchewan with Chuck, Leslie, and brothers Brett and Britten. Boyd attended Holy Cross high school in Saskatoon afterwards pursuing a career in logistics with Federated Co-op. He then decided to change his life direction and attend NAIT in Edmonton, Alberta for three years to pursue a career as a denturist in the family business, MBK Denture Clinic.
